Atlas shrugged
2008-2009
This project takes its title from the landmark 1957 novel by Ayn Rand, exploring a dystopic America where the world’s leading innovators go on strike after feeling exploited by society, refusing to allow the rest of the world to use their ideas and investigations.

The project dissects the landscape to speak about a contemporary dystopia.
Inspired in Chinese XIX Century prints and using the light box format with a subtle movement in the water and sound he creates a Western version of the light boxes that typically decorate Chinese restaurants. The inert image of these American landscapes loses its essential meaning, interchangeably becoming a subject and/or an object.
